DIY Face Mask Making Activity

Our students learned the crafty idea of how to make their own face masks. We encourage everyone to use fabric masks instead to protect yourselves when you are not sick and save the medical masks for our healthcare providers. These kind of masks are washable and reusable, and have filter compartments too! You can insert a filter when you feel like the layers still aren’t enough to keep you protected. Making and using your own face mask is very convenient. It lets you save money and reduce your waste at the same time.

If you are interested in making your own face mask, just follow the steps on the photos below.

Merit-Making to the Monks

Immerse in one of the most beautiful Buddhist traditions. Sandee Thai Language School made merit to the monks by offering food and drinks for bountiful blessings to our school. Merits brings good and agreeable results and contributes to a person’s growth towards enlightenment. Some everyday merit-making activities include offering food to the monks and donating money or necessities at the temples or to people in need. For special occasions like on one’s birthday, wedding, or housewarming, the actions may include releasing animals or chanting from a group of monks.

Halloween 2019

Halloween is a holiday celebrated each year on the 31st of October. The tradition originated from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. The evening before was known as “All Hallows Eve”, and later “Halloween”.

At Sandee Thai Language School, our students did Trick-or-Treat and they received candies as the “treat”. Three of our students also shared their thoughts about their experiences in studying Thai at Sandee while wearing Halloween headbands and shirt.
